The better platform is the one that fits how your team actually communicates, creates documents and manages information.
Two capable ecosystems
Both platforms cover business email, calendars, file storage, document creation, meetings, administration and security controls. A feature checklist rarely produces a useful winner because the practical difference is how those tools fit daily work.
Where Google Workspace feels natural
Workspace is strongly browser-led. Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Chat and Meet are designed around live collaboration and links. It often suits teams that value simplicity, quick sharing and working across different devices.
Where Microsoft 365 feels natural
Microsoft 365 is often the easier fit where desktop Office files, advanced Excel work, Windows management, Outlook, Teams or established Microsoft processes are central. It can provide a broad administrative environment, but that breadth needs deliberate configuration.
Decide around workflows, not familiarity
Look at document complexity, external collaboration, device management, compliance, shared storage, staff habits and support capability. Migration cost and change fatigue matter too. The right answer may be obvious only after mapping real workflows.
