Fractional CTO

Your technology partner.
Part of your business.

I’m Lee. I work alongside you to make technology decisions, plan what comes next and get the agreed work delivered. You reserve regular time with me, so I can understand your business and stay involved as it develops.

You have someone to talk through ideas, challenge unnecessary spending and turn priorities into practical action. I bring nearly four decades of experience to the decisions and the hands-on work, helping you improve what you have and build what is missing within our agreed time.

How we work together each month

We agree what matters most, turn it into a practical plan and use your reserved hours to move it forward. I stay involved in the decisions and the delivery, with regular reviews so you know what has been done and what comes next.

That might mean assessing a supplier proposal, improving an unreliable system, building an integration or helping your team choose the next step. You have someone who can understand the business need, explain the choices and carry out the agreed technical work.

01 · Agree priorities

02 · Plan and deliver

03 · Review progress

04 · Decide what is next

Who it suits

Owner-led businesses, charities, growing teams and established organisations that rely on technology but do not have senior technical leadership in the room. You may already have freelancers or internal staff, but still need someone experienced to shape decisions and keep the whole picture coherent.

What I help with

  • Technology strategy and practical roadmaps
  • Website, platform and system architecture
  • Technical translation and plain-English decisions
  • Security, access, backups and resilience decisions
  • Data, reporting, automation and AI opportunities
  • Project scoping, prioritisation and delivery oversight

Clear ways to work together

Reserve regular time with me.

You can discuss a Fractional CTO partnership with me directly. Choose the monthly capacity that fits your priorities; planning, discovery and hands-on delivery all use those reserved hours. If you want help with one decision first, a Strategy Session is an optional starting point. Project discovery is available where further investigation is needed.

Direct access to me. Deliberately limited.

I work with around five or six Fractional CTO clients at a time, so I can stay close to each business. You deal directly with me for technology judgement, planning and practical delivery. Website-only projects and care plans have separate capacity.

I am the person who hears the problem, helps shape the decision and carries out the agreed work. As I get to know your systems, team and priorities, we can spend more of our time making progress.

  • Direct access to senior technical experience
  • Continuity from first conversation through to delivery
  • Reserved time and honest start dates
  • A small Fractional CTO portfolio that allows proper attention

£300 fixed

Focused half-day
One problem, decision or opportunity

A focused half-day with me to work through one problem, decision or opportunity. I review the agreed material, ask questions and help you understand the options. You leave with concise written recommendations and prioritised next steps.

Useful when you are weighing up a supplier proposal, considering a new system or deciding where to invest. This is consultancy and planning, not development. Further investigation is scoped separately; straightforward work can move directly to an implementation quote. There is no requirement to take on a retainer afterwards.

  • Brief review of agreed material
  • Four-hour working session
  • Concise written recommendations
  • Prioritised next actions

Optional project preparation

Project Discovery & Planning

Quoted to scope

The right preparation for your project
From a focused review to a wider business and digital plan

For projects that need investigation before a reliable scope can be agreed, from websites, ecommerce and SEO to connected systems, automation or AI. I work with you to understand the business need, explore the options and identify what is practical.

We agree the questions, scope and deliverables first. You receive clear recommendations and a plan proportionate to the project. Design, development and implementation are quoted separately, or delivered within your retainer’s reserved hours.

  • Business goals, audiences and priorities
  • Review of the relevant website, brand, systems or processes
  • Options, feasibility and dependencies
  • Recommended scope, priorities and next steps

Clear capacity. Shared priorities.

  • Essential: £1,200 for 16 hours per month. Extended: £2,400 for 32 hours per month.
  • The same breadth of support at £75 per hour; the difference is reserved capacity. Larger commitments can be discussed.
  • All client work uses the allocation: discovery, planning, meetings, project communication, coding, testing, deployment and handover.
  • We agree priorities within the available hours. Larger projects may span several months.
  • An initial three-month commitment, followed by monthly renewal. Notice arrangements are agreed in writing before we start.
  • Unused hours do not roll over. Additional work requires a separate agreement and quote.

Project delivery and additional work

A project quote covers the complete agreed delivery: investigation where needed, development, testing, deployment and handover. Scope, assumptions and exclusions are agreed before work begins. For retained clients, work beyond the monthly allocation requires a separate agreement and quote. There is no automatic extra charge or promise of unlimited completion.

  2. 02 · DeliverBuild, test

    and next steps

Need more work? We agree the extra scope and quote before it starts.

Availability is deliberately limited. New retained engagements are accepted only when I have the capacity to support them properly and deliver the access promised. Fractional CTO is senior, business-facing technology leadership with practical delivery where it creates the most value—not a general IT helpdesk.

Managed digital workplace and technology leadership

Someone who already knows your business

You can bring a decision or a problem to someone who already understands your systems, your priorities and the work we have done together. That continuity helps me spot connections and risks, challenge unnecessary spending and keep decisions aligned with the business.

You work directly with me over time, with clear priorities, agreed hours and practical follow-through. I can support your existing team and suppliers as well as carry out hands-on work myself.
