Ongoing leadership and practical delivery across the whole environment.
The brief
Provide ongoing technology leadership and hands-on delivery across Base25’s digital estate. The priority is not a collection of isolated products: it is a joined-up platform that supports day-to-day work, protects organisational data, makes devices easier to manage and provides a clear route towards Cyber Essentials requirements.
A website that supports the organisation
The website is treated as part of the wider technology service. Its structure, content and hosting need to communicate Base25’s work clearly while remaining maintainable, resilient and secure. Technical decisions cover performance, accessibility, updates, backups, forms, analytics and integrations with the tools used behind the scenes.
- Website architecture, hosting and technical maintenance
- Clear content journeys and accessible front-end delivery
- Secure forms, updates, backups and recovery planning
- Analytics and integration with internal workflows
Infrastructure and hardware
Infrastructure is organised around reliable access, clear ownership and supportable standards. Hardware choices are based on the work people actually need to do, with an inventory and lifecycle approach covering procurement, configuration, deployment, maintenance and replacement rather than responding only when equipment fails.
Managed devices
Chromebooks and other hardware are prepared consistently, assigned to users, kept current and managed against clear security policies.
Reliable access
Connectivity, shared resources, peripherals and support processes are reviewed as one service so staff can work without avoidable friction.
Lifecycle control
Asset records, standards and replacement planning make costs more predictable and reduce unknown or unsupported equipment.
Google Workspace and Chromebooks
Google Workspace provides the identity and collaboration layer across email, calendars, files, documents and shared working. Administration focuses on usable access controls, sensible sharing, account lifecycle management and consistent Chromebook policies. New starters can be set up cleanly, leavers can be removed safely and organisational information is kept within managed accounts rather than scattered across personal services.
- User, group and shared-resource administration
- Chromebook enrolment, policies, updates and application control
- Drive structure, shared drives and permission management
- Multi-factor authentication and secure account recovery
- Joiner, mover and leaver processes
Data and automation
Useful data should be easy to capture, find and act upon without creating repetitive administration. Existing processes are mapped to identify duplicate entry, inconsistent records and manual hand-offs. Forms, structured datasets, reporting and carefully chosen automations then connect routine steps while keeping human review where judgement or safeguarding matters.
- Consistent data structures and ownership
- Connected forms and operational workflows
- Automated notifications, document handling and routine updates
- Reporting that turns operational data into useful information
- Retention, access and data-quality controls
Security and Cyber Essentials readiness
Cyber Essentials provides a practical framework for reducing common cyber risks. The work translates its controls into everyday technology management across devices, accounts, software, networks and administration. Evidence and responsibilities are made clear so security becomes a maintained operating practice rather than a one-off exercise before an assessment.
Secure configuration
Managed settings, supported software, browser controls and removal of unnecessary access reduce avoidable exposure.
Access control
Named accounts, least-privilege access, multi-factor authentication and disciplined administrator use protect key services and data.
Updates and evidence
Patch routines, asset records, policy decisions and supporting evidence make controls visible, reviewable and repeatable.
One accountable technology partner
The continuing value comes from seeing the whole environment. A website change can affect data handling; a new device can affect security; an automation can change access requirements. Bringing those decisions together gives Base25 a more coherent estate, clearer support and a practical roadmap for improvement.
Good technology should help the team concentrate on its work—not make them spend more time managing the technology itself.

The project in focus
Technology that supports the people doing the work.
One view of the digital estate helps connect everyday support with a practical roadmap. Cyber Essentials work is described as readiness, not a claim of certification.
